Hiring Scam Alert: Fake Job Offers Using the Enrique Interiors Name

We have been made aware that individuals are impersonating Enrique Interiors to run an employment scam - posting fake job openings, conducting fake interviews, and sending fraudulent checks to applicants. These people do not work for us and are not authorized to represent us in any way. We are not conducting these interviews, and we did not send these checks. We are reporting the impersonation to the authorities and to the platforms involved.

If you are here because you received an offer that felt off, or because you saw a post online asking whether Enrique Interiors is a scam - you were right to check. This page explains what is happening, how to tell a real offer from a fake one, and what to do if you have already been contacted.

If you have already deposited a check or sent money, do this now

1. Call your bank immediately and tell them the check may be fraudulent. Do not wait - a check can appear to clear and still bounce weeks later, and you will owe the money back.

2. Do not send any further funds, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or wire transfers, no matter what you are told.

3. Report it to the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov and to the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center at ic3.gov.

4. Forward the messages to us at contact@enriquehomeinterior.org so we can pursue the impersonator. You are not in trouble with us, and we want the evidence.

How the scam works

The pattern reported to us follows a script used against job seekers across many industries:

• A fake posting or unsolicited message advertises a position at Enrique Interiors, often remote, often unusually well paid for the work described.

• The interview is conducted entirely over text chat - Telegram, WhatsApp, Signal, or Google Chat - never by phone or video with a real person.

• An offer arrives quickly, sometimes within a day, with little real screening.

• A check is sent to the new hire, supposedly to buy equipment or set up a home office. The applicant is told to deposit it and send part of the money to a vendor.

• The check is counterfeit. It bounces days or weeks later, the bank reclaims the funds, and the applicant is left owing the full amount - while the money they forwarded is gone.

The applicant is the victim here, not the culprit. Anyone caught by this has our sympathy, and we would rather hear from you than have you stay quiet out of embarrassment.

Red flags: signs the offer is not from us

• You were interviewed over Telegram, WhatsApp, Signal, Google Chat, or text message only - with no phone or video call with a named person.

• The email did not come from an @enriquehomeinterior.org address. Look closely: lookalike domains with extra letters, hyphens, a different ending, or free Gmail and Outlook addresses are the giveaway.

• You were sent a check - for any reason, at any stage.

• You were asked to deposit funds and forward, wire, or transfer money onward to a vendor, supplier, or third party.

• You were asked to buy gift cards, cryptocurrency, or equipment and be reimbursed later.

• You were asked for your bank login, routing number, Social Security number, or a photo of your ID before any real interview or signed offer.

• You were hired almost immediately, with heavy pressure to move fast and stay off the phone.

What a real offer from us looks like

• All hiring communication comes from an @enriquehomeinterior.org email address. Nothing else is us.

• We speak with you - by phone, video, or in person. We do not hire anyone we have never spoken to.

• We never send you money before you start, and we never ask you to send money, buy anything, or forward funds. Not for equipment, not for training, not for onboarding, not for a background check. There is no exception to this.

• We do not request bank details, Social Security numbers, or identity documents over chat apps.

• If a role is not listed on our own website, treat it as fake.

How to verify an offer with us

If you have been contacted by someone claiming to represent Enrique Interiors and you are not sure it is real, stop and check with us before you do anything else. There is no downside to asking, and we would much rather answer a question than clean up after a fraud.

What we are doing about it

• We are reporting the impersonation to the FTC and the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3).

• We are reporting the fraudulent listings and accounts to the platforms where they appear.

• We are responding publicly wherever this scam is being discussed, so that anyone searching finds the truth.

• We are collecting evidence from anyone who was targeted. If you have screenshots, emails, or a copy of a check, please send them to us - they help.
